Deep Fried Sweet Potatoes ( Dundu)


Frying potatoes is simply a 2 step process.

Ingredients:

4-6 medium sweet potatoes (Peeled, cut and cleaned)

oil for frying

Direction

  • Add the oil to a large pot, place on below high heat.Β  Once the oil is hot enough, carefully add in the potatoes. ( Do not crowd the oil with too many potato pieces,Β  if you add too many potatoes at once it will not crisp up).
  • Fry potatoes until golden brown.

Serve and enjoy with ketchup or raw chilli

    Can I fry it wit red sweet potatoes? It is a lot harder to cut than this ones.

      Unfortunately I am not sure since I do not live in the states. If you know a local Asian Market, you can check there. Japanese sweet potatoes are similar to the Nigerian variety, just be very careful not to buy the purple fleshed ones.

      Any vegetable store or supermarket carries sweet potatoes…we also have yams but they are not Nigerian yams.
