First off… errmmmm… clears throat, this recipe is dedicated to my Boo who recently got me a super foodie camera. This is a one pot recipe for those nights you are tired or too lazy to worry about process.
Ingredient:
- 2 teaspoons Pepper soup spice mix
- 1 tea spoon Paprika
- 2 large potatoes (washed, peeled and cubed)
- 1 cube Maggi
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon palm oil (optional)
Direction:
- Combine all the ingredients in a pot on medium heat, add 2.5 cups of water. Bring to a rolling boil, reduce the heat to a little above minimum. simmer the mix for 25mins or until potatoes are tender.
Variation: Add in some shrimps or chicken pieces to make the soup more hearty .

Hi . please where can I buy paprika from in Nigeria. Or does it have a local name? Thanks and good job
I am not aware of any local name, but you will find it where dry spices are sold.
Where do I find pepper soup spice mix or what is in it and should I use chicken or beef Maggi cube. I am so excited to have found this page off instagram. As an American born Nigerian dating a calabar man, I want to learn many recipes that won’t take as long as it took my mom to cook for us! #noshade. Great job love, ur a life saver
you can buy premixed peppersoup spice mix at your local market or Nigerian food store. Seasoning cube choice doesn’t make much difference, use your favorite one. Yes!! I am all for easy and fast cooking.
